Karimnagar: Health Minister Etela Rajender on Sunday asserted that the people of Karimnagar people will always stand by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Referring to the Chief Minister’s plan to play a vital role in national politics, he said the people of the district were saying “Tum Aghe Bado, Hum thumare Sath Hai.” Right from first ‘Simha Garjana’ meeting, Karminagar people had supported TRS during its 14 year agitation for Statehood, the Minister said, addressing the huge gathering here marking the launch of the campaign for Lok Sabha elections by Chandrashekhar Rao. “It is only because of the outstanding decisions taken by the Chief Minister that Telangana had become a role model for the entire country within a short period of four and half years,” he said, adding that schemes such as Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, irrigation project, Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bhima were introduced to put an end to farmers’ suicides..

Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat, Maharastra and other States were trying to emulate the Telangana developmental model, Rajender said. Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar thanked Chandrashekhar Rao and predicted that there was a good possibility of regional political parties coming to power at the national level. The outstanding efforts made by the Chief Minister in the last four and half years had placed Telangana on the top among other States, he said.

He recalled that when Chandrasahekhar Rao was elected as MP from Karimangar, there was a proposal to have Manoharabad and Kothapalli railway line for which land survey was also carried out. “However, it was shelved due to negligence of the then Congress government,” he said, adding that after TRS came to power in 2014, the Chief Minister wrote letters to the Central government for railway line Stating that Telangana would bear the cost. Karimangar will soon get direct railway connection, with works under progress now, he said, adding that Chandrashekhar Rao took the initiative to get Smart City status for Karimnagar..
