The Indian Meteorological Centre attributed the occurence of widespread rains in the State to a low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north OdishaWest Bengal coasts. An associated cyclonic circulation also persists along with the low pressure area. As a result, several places in the State received light to moderate rains, with Bejjur in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district receiving the highest rainfall of 6 cm. Bheemini in Mancherial district, Dahegaon in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district and Varni in Nizamabad district received 5 cm rainfall each. “Similar conditions are likely to persist till Friday. The rains will be widespread and light to moderate in most places, but heavy to very heavy rain is expected at isolated places in the districts of Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Mancherial, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Medak, Siddipet, Karimnagar, Jagitial, Peddapally, Rajanna Sircilla, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mulugu, Khammam, Warangal Urban, Warangal Rural, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda and Suryapet,” the Met officials said..
