Mahabubnagar: Activists of Students Federation of India (SFI) held a rally in Jadcharla town on Friday with an effigy of Naveen Reddy, who recently murdered a Class X student near Jadcharla after befriending her on Facebook..
The activists alleged that despite repeated incidents of rape and murder being reported from across the country, governments had failed to address the issue and bring the culprits to book swiftly after committing the crime. “It was Nirbhaya case in the national capital, then it was Khammam and murders in Warangal and now it is Jadcharla. Rape and murder seems to have spread across the State and the culprits are not being punished immediately. Unless that happens, sexual predators will continue to carry out their evil acts without fear. Implementation of various Acts with respect to women and children needs to be done effectively,” the SFI activists said. They demanded stringent punishment for Naveen Reddy so that it could act as a deterrent to others from repeating such acts..
