I am a warrior, not a beggar: KCR...

Hyderabad: “There is a need for change in the country, and it will come from Hyderabad.” This was Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s reply to NDTV’s Pronnoy Roy’s request for a headline at the end of a 17-minute interview on the dais at Parade Grounds from where the former earlier addressed a massive public meeting..

To a question on the TRS stand on Federal Front, on whether he was willing to go with either BJP or Congress, the Chief Minister categorically said that the need of the hour was a non-BJP, non-Congress government at the Centre. “The question before the nation is why should the BJP and the Congress have monopoly at the Centre and why are they strengthening the concurrent list?” he asked.

Elaborating further, the Chief Minister wondered what the Centre had to do with running a small school in a remote area of the State or for that matter, agriculture. “Once the Assembly elections are over, I will move around the country. There is need for power to shift from the hands of BJP and the Congress,” he said, adding that when the question crops up before the nation, solution will also follow. “The people of the country will decide. When Jayaprakash Narayan was alive, the Janata Party emerged. This is nothing new for the country,” he said.

Asked about his main opponent, Chandrashekhar Rao said he has no enemy. “There is no one to match the TRS. I have toured 100 Assembly constituencies and I am confident of winning with a bumper margin,” he said.

On why he has been targeting Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister said it was because he was indulging in silly politics. “He has no policy. Whenever he likes, he joins BJP and then switches over to Congress. I have to focus on Naidu because his politics is crooked,” he said.

To a question on whether he advanced the elections so that he can play a role at the Centre, he said, “I am not doing things to become Prime Minister. I am a warrior and not a beggar. I am KCR.”.
